Who are we?

Inaugurated in 2008, the Huron-Wendat Museum is an institution created to protect and promote the heritage of the Wendat people. With a permanent exhibit Territories, Memories, Knowledge, an ongoing program of temporary exhibits, and numerous activities and themed workshops, the Museum carries out its mandate to teach and popularize the history, culture and art of the Wendat people and of others First Nations.Tthe Museum is also a gateway for visitors, leading to Wendake's numerous heritage sites such as Notre-Dame-de-Lorette Church, the Kabir Kouba waterfall, the Tsawenhohi House and the Ekionkiestha’ longhouse.

The Museum boutique offers visitors a piece of history in the form of Aborigianl works of art and exhibit catalogues, along with souvenirs bearing the Museum logo.

Located right by the Akiawenrahk river, under the same roof as the Hôtel-Musée Premières Nations and La Traite Restaurant, the Museum is surrounded by thematic gardens which created an enchanting setting.
