Decorative plantings: Vegetal art
Take in some fresh air on a bike ride and discover another facet of Huron-Wendat political customs: the formation of clans to handle civil and family affairs.
Decorative plantings adorn the four entries of Wendake's touristic area. These three-dimensional metallic structures, filled with earth and skillful plantings, represent the animals of the eight clans of the Nation– the turtle, the wolf, the bear, the deer and the beaver. The Council of the Huron-Wendat Nation has won many awards for these works of art in a natural setting.
