17th century’s Jesous Ahatonhia
Workshop on the oldest Canadian Christmas carol : 17th century’s Jesous Ahatonhia
The oldest Canadian Christmas carol is the Jesous ahatonhia, composed in huron-wendat language by Father Jean de Brébeuf, around 1640. During this 30 minutes workshop, you will discover (or rediscover) the story behind this song that crossed the centuries thanks to the huron-wendat oral tradition. You’ll also be invited to briefly discover the language in which it was first composed.
From December 22 to January 6 at 11:30 am at the Huron-Wendat Museum.
