Reimagine passenger rail service with modern, accessible, and high-performance trains connecting Quebec City, Trois-Rivières, Laval, Montreal, Ottawa, Peterborough, and Toronto.
With speeds reaching 300 km/h or more across a network of approximately 1,000 km of primarily electrified, passenger-dedicated track, Alto will bring millions of Canadians living along the Corridor closer together.
Alto will cut intercity travel times in half compared to current rail services, offering travel times competitive with driving and flying.
Alto will provide more frequent departures between major cities (Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto) and serve as a travel option that complements the car or airplane. Passengers will have the flexibility to depart at their convenience—even at the last minute—and return the same day.
The high-speed rail network will operate on primarily electrified, dedicated tracks, minimizing interference with other rail traffic and improving on-time performance.
