BASTIEN INDUSTRIES

Description

Located in Wendake, Bastien Industries has been manufacturing and distributing moccasins and indigenous crafts since 1972. Renowned for its products’ quality, Bastien Industries was founded by Mr. Roland Bastien. Inspired by Grand Chief Maurice Bastien’s knowledge and passion for crafting snowshoes and moccasins, Mr. Roland Bastien founded the company in order to design and produce crafts worthy of his heritage.

In 1996, Mr. Roland Bastien’s daughter, Mrs. Ginette Bastien, took over the company and led it to new summits, by deploying the popular brand of moccasins named Hiawatha throughout several countries. Bastien moccasins are now available internationally, thanks to the careful work of tailors, sewers, beadworkers and lacers.

In 2022, Jason Picard-Binet took up the reins. Proud member of the Huron-Wendat Nation, he intends to pursue the hard work carried out by the Bastien family. With a great expertise in marketing, project management and strategic relations, Jason Picard-Binet intends to pursue the mission of the business with a modern touch.
