Encounter with Iroquoian and New France societies

(New -Theme: trade and diplomacy)

Who: Students of primary schools’ 3rd and 4th grade (2nd cycle)

Duration: 1h30 at Museum Huron-Wendat and 1h30 to Saint-Louis Forts and Châteaux National Historic Site.

At the Museum Huron-Wendat, the students will be immersed in the 17th century at the Ekionkiestha’ national longhouse, they will participate in role play exercises about the matricentric system and the roles of chiefs, as well as preparing a commercial expedition with the French.

The experience continues with Parks Canada!

During this activity, students will have the chance to discover what is hidden under the Dufferin Terrace and will dive into the diplomatic universe of the New France era. A game of discovery and role play will teach them about diplomacy and its hierarchy, along with the importance of relations with the First Nations.
